Dynamic and powerful performers are heading to Waltham Forest for the first ever Dance All Over E17.

Street style, contemporary, classical, dance on film, Asian dance and youth dance groups will all be part of the free two-day event funded by the council and organised by Ajos Dance, an award-winning social enterprise, which will present three pieces at the festival.

Local talent includes Forest Gate dancer Alva Aydmilson performing a three-minute solo prepared specifically for the festival, Charlie-Ann Blair from the University of East London, street dancer Luke Doyley who is a member of Waltham Forest Young Advisors, and Dean Ibrahim who will be bringing dance students from his Highnam Hill-based KNI Foundation.

London Contemporary Dance School graduate Laura D’Italia will present a dark solo recalling past events, memories and strange encounters; Róisín O’Brien, student of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance will perform a short solo exploring ballet as an art form; and One Youth Dance Company, founded in 2011 by an 18-year-old, will perform four short pieces.

There will also be a program of dance on film shown on a Big Screen in Town Square featuring artists Fearghus O’Conchuir, London-based choreographer and dancer Rachel Burn and Seeta Patel, an expert in the classical dance form of Bharatanatyam.
