A high value hybrid bike which was going to be used to raise money for charity has been stolen.

The black Giant Escape bicycle was taken from Hurricane Way, North Weald Airfield at around 4.30pm on Friday July 17.

Two men carried out the theft of the custom made bike.

It has a Topeak cycle rack, fluorescent green panniers and a fluorescent green saddle.

Investigating officer PC Tracy Topche said: "The bike is very special to the victim as he was planning to use it for a charity ride in August from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

“If anyone knows anything about the theft or where the bike currently is then I would ask them to call me at Loughton Police Station on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
