An application has been made to convert a sports shop, turning it into the third estate agency office in a row.

Loughton Town Council has objected to the application from Nancy Venables, who has proposed to turn InterSport in the High Road into yet another estate agency.

The proposal will be considered by Epping Forest District Council tomorrow evening (July 29), with planners so far recommending it for approval.

Council planner Marie-Claire Tovey wrote that estate agencies “can add to a degree to the vitality and viability of a shopping area” and concluded that “the need to avoid empty units in shopping areas is considered sufficient to recommend approval for this application.”

The plans will be considered at a public meeting from 7.30pm at the Roding Valley High School in Brook Road, Loughton.
