An axe-wielding man who threatened a PCSO has been given a caution.
The community support officer was called to assist with the recovery of a stolen car in Chingford, last week (July 23) when he was approached by the man.
At around 2.30pm the officer was on Sewardstone Road assessing the vehicle when he was approached by a man with a axe.
The 22-year-old threatened the officer before using the axe to damage the windows of the car.
Back-up was called and the man was arrested for criminal damage to a motor vehicle and possession of an offensive weapon.
He was taken to an east London police station where he was cautioned.
The man was cautioned after admitting to causing criminal damage. He also received a caution for affray and possession of an offensive weapon.
