Further travel disruptions are expected after a union representing London Underground workers announced it has rejected an offer aimed at averting a fresh strike over the new all-night Tube.

Thousands of workers are due to walk out for 24 hours from 6.30pm on Wednesday (August 5) which would shut down the service for the second time in a month.

One of the unions Unite said today that the proposed deal did not go far enough, especially on the flexibility of working the new night Tube.

Other unions RMT, TSSA and Aslef are meeting with London Underground representatives at Acas this afternoon to discuss the proposals.

LU made a revised offer last week to in response to concerns about the work-life balance of staff who will work on the new service, which is set to be launched on September 12.

TfL said if the strike goes ahead, Tube services will stop running at 6.30pm on Wednesday, urging people to complete journeys by this time and travel earlier if possible.

Staff on the bus network and London Overground services will not be on strike, but these services are expected to be "much busier than usual".
