A man has been seriously injured in a multiple car and lorry accident on the A406 this morning.
The North Circular has been closed southbound approaching the Redbridge flyover by the junction for the M11 in South Woodford.
Emergency services including London's Air Ambulance (LAA) and London Fire Brigade (LFB) are at the scene.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard, said: "We were called at 7.47am to reports of a number of vehicles involved in a collision.
"One man is currently being treated at the scene for serious injuries.
"At this stage, we believe the accident involved two lorries and three cars.
"All four lanes have been closed southbound.
"London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service are in attendance."
A LFB spokeswoman confirmed they were called at 7.51am.
She said: "We were called to a road traffic collision involving two lorries and two cars.
"One man was removed by London Ambulance Service and is being treated at the scene.
"We did not release anyone and the incident was over for us at 8.39am."
According to TfL's Twitter, the A406 was closed in both directions to allow for the landing of the air ambulance but was re-opened northbound in the last five minutes.
