A hairdresser is set to retire after 50 years dedication to Epping.

Linda Turner, 67, owner of Linda’s Hairdressers in Epping High Road, will close her doors for the last time on August 29 after working in the town for more than five decades.

The mother-of-three, who has done an estimated 125,000 haircuts during her career, said she will be “devastated” to close the shop, which she opened in the town in 1992, later this month.

Ms Turner, who will continue cutting the hair of her friends and family after she closes, said: “I am retiring at the end of the month and I am devastated to be shutting the shop.

“At the age of 18 I began my first of training to be a hairdresser in a small shop here.

“I have dedicated my career and life to Epping, I was born and bred here.

“I have already had a few customers cry when I told them that I would be closing.

“I never thought people would be so upset but it is because we are like family.

“I cut their hair and their mothers and even their grandmothers so it is emotional.

“I will be so sad to see it go.”
