A Tory MP hoping to become the next Mayor of London visited Walthamstow yesterday.
Zac Goldsmith, Conservative MP for Richmond Park and North Kingston was taken on a tour of E17 by former parliamentary candidate, Molly Samuel-Leport MBE.
The candidate stopped at shops along Hoe Street to speak with business owners about what they think is important for him to address, should he be elected in 2016.
Mrs Samuel-Leport said it was "honour" to show Zac around.
Mr Goldsmith plans to follow in the footsteps of current mayor Mr Johnson.
He said: “Boris has shown what a strong, campaigning Mayor can achieve for the whole of London. He has secured investment, created jobs, made our streets safer and much more. On his watch, London has become the world’s greatest city with all the benefits that brings.
“We need to continue to build on that progress, making sure London works for all Londoners.”
