Dog owners are being urged to have their pets microchipped for free.
Dogs Trust, a national dogs charity, are offering owners the chance to have their pet chipped at the Roding Valley Recreation Ground on August 26, to help identify them if they are lost or stolen.
The microchipping is being carried out and funded by the charity for free, whereas private veterinary clinics will typically charge between £20-£30.
The event, which will also offer a dogs agility course and free neutering and health check vouchers, will take place next to the tennis courts between 11am and 3pm.
Every dog owner in England will have to microchip their animal from 6 April 2016.
Owners who fail to comply could face fines of up to £500.
