Students have celebrated achieving a record number of A* grades in Chigwell today.
Chigwell School in High Road, Chigwell, saw more than 39 per cent of students achieve A* results, six times the national average.
The most common result at the school this year was an A* grade, with more than 25 per cent of students achieving at least seven A*'s in their GCSE's, 72 per cent of grades awarded were at least an A and 91 per cent were B grade or above.
Of 86 pupils in the year group, six achieved at least 10 A* grades.
Headmaster, Mr Michael Punt, said: “We are very proud of all our GCSE students.
"They have studied hard in ten or more GCSE subjects with the dedicated support of their teachers and they have balanced their work and extra-curricular commitments with a great deal of success.
"I hope these results take them closer to fulfilling their dreams and ambitions, and that they continue to flourish.”
