Forest School students were celebrating successful GCSE results today.

A total of 91 per cent of all grades awarded were at least a B grade and 68 per cent A* or A at the private Snaresbrook school.

68 per cent of pupils achieved at least five A* or A grades, while 59 per cent were given at least six A* or A grades.

Sam Telling, who got nine A* grades, will be continuing his A-level studies at Forest, as well as training at Leyton Orient Football Club.

He will spending mornings training with the club and afternoons studying in sixth form at Forest.

He said: “I’m really pleased with my results, I worked really hard on my GCSEs so it’s good to see the results today.”

Kareem Hussain is celebrating after getting nine A* grades.

“I’m happily surprised with my results,” she said.

“Totally unexpected. I’m looking forward to celebrating today.”

Mr Jonathan Mitchell, deputy academic head, said he “couldn’t be prouder”.

He said: “The A* grade has now been the most common GCSE result achieved by our hard-working pupils and their dedicated staff for the past four years.

“These results show that Foresters are above all highly flexible learners, and we look forward to building on these strengths.”
