A man is set to appear in court tomorrow accused of colliding his car with a lorry while under the influence of alcohol.

Gary Atkins, 33, of Gyllyngdune Gardens in Ilford, is accused of driving a Jaguar S Type vehicle in Honey Lane, Waltham Abbey, on February 11 while over the drink drive limit and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

He was found to have 147 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Atkins is also accused of driving without due care and attention and losing control of his car as he exited the roundabout and collided head on with an oncoming lorry.

He will appear in Chelmsford Magistrates Court tomorrow for a hearing (August 25).
