Two people have been taken to hospital after a collision on a notorious road this morning (August 26).

One car reportedly overturned in the crash, which happened at about 9.30am in Stanford Rivers Road, Ongar.

The East of England Ambulance Trust was called at 9.39am, with two ambulances attending to treat two patients.

Both were taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, although the ambulance service has not confirmed any other details of the patients.

Their injuries are described as “unknown but not thought to be too serious”.

Stanford Rivers Road is part of the notorious A113, dubbed “the most dangerous in the east of England” by the Road Safety Foundation after a string of serious accidents in 2010, and in March people living in Marden Ash successfully fought for new safety measures to be introduced to combat dangerous driving.
