A new super-school could be built in Waltham Forest housing nursery, primary and secondary age children.

Designs for the redevelopment of Buxton School in Leytonstone have been submitted to the council for consideration at planning committee, next week.

If plans are given the green light all schools buildings will be demolished and one three-storey development constructed.

The school is currently situated on ‘irregular shaped land’ bound by Cann Hall Road to the south, Woodhouse Road, Terling Close and Newcomen Road to the west/north, and the Cann Hall Park.

At present, the nursery and primary school are on the southern part of the site, and the secondary school on the northern part of the site.

The new school would have a shared dining room for all ages and in indoor sports facility.

As well as eliminating the need for temporary classrooms and adding facilities, if plans go ahead, student numbers could increase.

There are currently 1506, but this could go up to 1800.

Plans for the outdoor areas include a nature garden and three MUGA pitches.
