Sean Clohessy believes Orient have sent out a big statement to the rest of League Two after their start to the season.
The O’s are three points clear at the top of the table after their 2-0 victory over Bristol Rovers handed them their fifth successive win.
Clohessy said: “Obviously you want to stay on a roll. Five wins sends out a message to the league. When you win two you’ve just won two. But five is a big statement.”
Clohessy has settled in seamlessly since joining the club this summer. The right-back’s ability to attack and send in crosses has been a consistent success for the leaders.
The former Colchester United defender said: “That’s always been a part of my game. Since the moment I signed here the manager told me that’s what he wants me doing.
“Obviously you’ve got a defensive duty but especially when you’re in a team dominating games it allows me to get forward a lot more.”
He added: “You see people trying to man-mark us but we found different avenues of getting forward.
"They can do what they want and try to man-mark us but we’ve got so much attacking flair in this team that it’s going to be hard to stop us playing.”
