A drug dealer was jailed for a total of four years and 11 months for supplying heroin and cannabis, and driving whilst disqualified.

Bilal Hussain, of Livingstone Road, Walthamstow, was found guilty of possession with intent to supply heroin and was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on August 28 following a five day trial.

The 25-year-old was also found guilty of possession with intent to supply cannabis, and driving while disqualified, subsequently being banned from driving for five years.

On February 26, Waltham Forest police officers stopped Hussain on suspicion of driving while disqualified.

He was arrested and a search found heroin concealed in his underwear.

Heroin and cannabis were also found in his home.

Hussain was charged on February 27 with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession with intent to supply a Class B drug, driving whilst disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance.

Detective constable Thomas Johnson, from Waltham Forest’s gangs task force, said: "This is a great result for the community of Waltham Forest and I am pleased that a drug dealer has been taken off the streets.

"We will continue to target drug dealers on the borough and with the help of local residents we can keep Waltham Forest a safe place to live, work and visit."
