A woman has been rescued from tube tracks by police in an incident on the Central line.
The anti-clockwise service between Leytonstone and Hainault ground to a halt when a woman in her 30s entered the tracks yesterday (September 2) at 3pm.
Passengers reported the disruption on Twitter to TfL who explained the delays were due to a "passenger incident".
The woman was then safely pulled from the tracks before being taken for a mental health assesment.
The incident caused the Central line service to be stopped for around 30 minutes.
A short statement from a British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: "We were called to Hainault Station to a report of a person on the tracks.
"Officers from BTP and the Metropolitan Police attended the scene, alongside colleagues from London Ambulance Service.
“A woman in her 30s was safely removed from the tracks and taken to a place of safety for a mental health assessment.”
