Points have been added to the licence of a bus driver who was fined after being caught on camera using his mobile phone behind the wheel.

Campaigning cyclist Dave Sherry, 37, caught the clip of the driver of a Town Link bus holding his mobile phone to his ear in High Road, Epping, at 7.30am on June 20.

Mr Sherry, who himself works as a bus driver in London, recorded the video using a camera attached to his helmet and the footage has been passed to the police.

The father added the video to his YouTube channel, which has already publicly shamed more than 400 dangerous drivers.

The driver has since been fined £100 and had three points added to his licence.

Mr Sherry said: "As a bus driver, I clocked a mile off that he was doing something he shouldn't be.

"When I saw the handset to his ear I was shocked.

"He had passengers in the vehicle and a duty of care to be giving them.

"People shouldn't have to worry about whether or not their driver is fully concentrating on the road when they board a bus, that is an unwritten rule.

"Safe roads for all."
