A fitness guru is hoping to take advantage of a new trend of food intolerance tests which advise you on what foods you should personally avoid.

Cameron Harris, who grew up in Davinia Close, Woodford Bridge, works as a self-employed trainer and the latest addition to his business is a test which works out which foods in your diet are causing you discomfort.

He set up his Cameron Harris Transformations business after obtaining a sports science degree from St Marys University in London, and is currently living in Brentwood.

The IgG antibody blood tests, using the lab and equipment of health service Lorisian, can be purchased from Mayor's Pharmacy, in Snakes Lane West, Woodford Green.

The most comprehensive test costs £299, which includes 150 different foods including 12 different forms of grape, for wine, and also a one-on-one consultation to discuss the findings.

£99 is the price of the cheapest option with 50 foods.

The 29-year-old said: “I think people are understanding more that nutrition is directly linked to wellbeing.

“You could have migraines, arthritis, or stomach issues and not know that it is actually down to what you are putting into your body.

"Of course it could be a lack of hydration or something similar but we have had great results from the tests.

“Food is such a big part of your life and by finding out what it is that is causing discomfort that can be addressed.

“I had very low energy so took the test myself.

“It told me that I should cut out chicken and eggs from my diet, I feel so much better for taking its advice.”

The former St Aubyn’s school pupil believes that people living in Wanstead and Woodford will especially interested in the test.

He said: “People in this area are really into their diet and exercise so this is why I am working with Mayor's Pharmacy.

“I regularly see people training for the marathon here and it is a great idea to take a test beforehand because there is nothing worse than feeling ill while trying to train.

“In the future I want to expand it into other pharmacies across Wanstead and Woodford.”
