Syrian refugees taken in by the government may be housed in Epping Forest.
The council is currently in talks over how many it could offer housing to in the district.
Next week, at a full council meeting the decision will be revealed by Cllr Stallan, portfolio member for housing.
Leader of the council, Chris Whitbread, was asked by the East of England Local Government Association (EELGA) on September 14 if the council could house a number of those who have fled war and poverty in their homeland.
Any refugees taken in will be offered housing, NHS treatment and entitlement to benefits for an initial five years.
The council will be informed of the decision at the meeting on September 29.
