Children dressed up as their favourite Roald Dahl characters for charity last week.
Pupils celebrated Dahlicious Day on Friday (September 25) at Avon House School, in High Road, Woodford Green.
They dressed up as their favourite characters from Roald Dahl stories and each donated £1 to help support Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
The author, who wrote over 60 books, was born in Wales to Norwegian parents in 1916 before dying in 1990.
Headteacher Amanda Campbell said: “It was Year 4’s turn to lead assembly and, as their topic this term is ‘Roald Dahl’, they provided a fascinating insight into the life of the world famous author.
“Did you know that before he was a writer, Roald Dahl was an RAF fighter pilot?
“The day ended with a book sale where children, and adults, were able to grab themselves a bargain.”
