Television personality Mark Wright will host this year’s Haven House Hospice charity ball, it was announced today.

A host of celebrities will attend the charity auction for the Woodford Green children’s hospice will take place on October 8 at Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane.

Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Arnold will be the auctioneer on the night.

The black tie event, sponsored by City brokerage firm Redburn and The Health Lottery, will have a red carpet entrance for a drinks reception from 6pm followed by a night of fine dining, entertainment and an auction.

Prizes include a one-week stay for 10 guests at Azzurra Castle on Grenada in the West Indies, the use of an eight-seater private jet flying from Stansted Harrods Aviation to a European destination, and the chance for up to four people to travel home on the night of the ball in a chauffeur driven one-of-a-kind purple Rolls-Royce Ghost Series.

Additional prizes include a print by acclaimed artist David Yarrow and a four-course private dinner for 10 guests cooked and hosted by celebrity chef Aldo Zilli.

Celebrities attending are Eddie Hearn, boxing promoter and director of the Professional Darts Corporation, Loughton actress Vicki Michelle, TV personality Michelle Heaton, actress and model Michelle Keegan, and celebrity chef Aldo Zilli.

Last year’s ball raised £143,000.

Mike Palfreman, chief executive of Haven House Children’s Hospice, said: “Our Autumn Ball is the single most important fundraising event of the year for the hospice and we are absolutely delighted to have the support of so many celebrities.

“This year’s ball is set to be our biggest yet and I am thrilled that we have managed to secure the grandeur of the Grosvenor House Hotel as our new venue.

“It promises to be a very exciting night with funds raised going towards our vital work in supporting local life-limited children and their families.”
