Firefighters tackled a fire which engulfed five sheds early on Saturday morning (October 3).

London Fire Brigade was called at 4.25am to reports of a blaze in Jerningham Avenue, Barkingside.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Hainault, Ilford and Woodford fire stations were at the scene and brought the fire under control by 5.08am.

A butane cylinder in one of the sheds was cooled before being removed from the shed, as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.

The five sheds were left damaged by the fire.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
