Police are trying to locate the victim of a bloody assault who managed to walk away from the scene of the attack.
Residents of Hoe Street, Walthamstow were woken in the night by a man screaming at around 2am and a police cordon was in operation this morning (October 9).
The victim is believed to have walked away from the scene of the assault but a pool of blood remains on the pavement of the busy street.
The Metropolitan Police released a statement today after previously being unable to locate the incident on their records.
A Met spokesman said: "We were called to Central Parade, Hoe Street at 7:45am after evidence was found of an assault.
"Officers attended and made local enquiries. CCTV footage of an earlier assault at 2.20am is now being examined.
"No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing."
