A charity and ‘upcycling’ centre has celebrated after buying a new van following two years and £30,000 of fundraising.
Epping Forest ReUse, which aims to provide good quality furniture and appliances at low prices for those who need them, officially launched its new vehicle on Thursday (October 8) in Bower Hill, Epping.
Vice chairman of Essex County Council councillor John Aldridge led the ceremony, after the council contributed £10,000 to the van which will collect and deliver goods.
Volunteer Janet Whitehouse said the charity helps people in need in the district and surrounding areas “by providing good quality, affordable furniture and household appliances.”
She added: “We are all delighted to have the van and grateful to everyone who contributed to the £30,000 it cost.”
