Woodford Green’s MP was shown around the facilities at a children’s hospice in a visit last week.
Conservative Iain Duncan Smith was on Friday (October 16) shown around by chief executive Mike Palfreman at Haven House Hospice, in High Road, Woodford Green.
In September last year, a two-storey holistic centre was built at the hospice.
It provides two consultation rooms for doctors, a music therapy room and activity space for up to 50 people.
The annexe was designed by Loughton-based Clear Architects after a £464,000 grant was secured from the Department of Health, with an additional £201,000 of grants and donations going towards the cost.
It was shortlisted in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors East of England Awards.
Mr Duncan Smith said: “It was great to be shown round the new Holistic Care Centre at Haven House and receive an update on plans for care for life-limited children going forward.
"These developments are illustrative of the fantastic work the charity is doing to support both children and families through the most unimaginable circumstances.”
