Pupils dressed up and re-enacted famous battles as part of a study of Roman times.
Year 3 children had the chance to get involved last week at Avon House Preparatory School, Woodford Green.
They took part in a re-enactment of the rebellion of Queen Boudicca, who fought the invaders.
Headteacher Amanda Campbell said: "The children dressed up as different people such as a Roman soldier, Queen Boudicca, slaves, Julius Caesar and the Celtic army.
"They also held and smelled various Roman replicas.
"Everyone had great fun and the children furthered their learning."
