Police investigating a spate of gang robberies at bookmakers have released images of men wanted in connection with the incidents.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Service's Flying Squad released the 11 images after the raids on betting shops in Walthamstow, Leyton and surrounding areas such as Enfield, Haringey, Hackney and Edmonton.

A reward is also being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of the men responsible.

Four or five individuals are thought to be involved with the gang, although individual offences are usually by two or three of the men.

The bookmakers are normally targeted around opening or closing time.

The first raid was in July, with the last happening this month.

Detective sergeant Paul Grimmer said: “If you recognise any of the men in these pictures, I would urge you to get in touch.

“Bookmakers have been targeted specifically by this gang, in many cases threatening the cashiers and leaving them traumatised.”

Peter Craske, from the Association of British Bookmakers (ABB), said: “The ABB is offering a reward for information that leads to a successful prosecution.

“We work closely with our members and police forces to keep betting shops as safe as we can, for customers and staff.”
