A POP-UP shop stocking unique gifts by talented E17ers has opened in Walthamstow.

Handmade treats and trinkets, as well as festive presents are being sold at The Mall in Selborne Walk, after a joint project with the E17 Designers’.

The store was opened for the first time, last week, to provide shoppers with the chance to buy alternative gifts while supporting independent artists.

“We are thrilled and extremely excited to announce the first of a kind Christmas pop up shop here at The Mall Walthamstow,” Rebecca Marjoram, marketing manager at The Mall said.

“We have teamed up with the very talented E17 Designers to welcome the local craft community here into The Mall. This fantastic new pop up shop will stock an eclectic mix of high quality, handmade gifts direct from the makers.”

Over 50 designers will be selling bags, jewellery, cushions, children’s gifts and clothing, art prints, cards, photography and homemade cakes.

The stock in the temporary shop will change every week and many of the designers will be based in the shop so shoppers can meet the makers.

Capital & Regional asset manager Sian Bowen got in touch with the group over Twitter and the partnership came about.

E17 Designers organiser Carolyn Abbott said: “E17 Designers is made up of local artists, designers and makers who regularly pop up around the E17 area.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to be in a central position and meet lots of new customers. We are hoping a lot of our current customers will also come along to The Mall and find out what there is on offer. It is all about shopping local.”

The shop will be open Tuesday to Saturday and Sundays until Christmas Eve when it will open between 10am and 2pm.
