A children’s hospice said it is “overwhelmed” by the £100,000 donation it received from a charitable foundation.
Haven House Children’s Hospice in High Road, Woodford Green, received the first instalment of the grant from the Pears Foundation in December 2015, with the second expected at the end of this year.
Chief executive of Haven House, Mike Palfreman, said: “We have been left overwhelmed by this incredibly generous grant from the Pears Foundation.”
The grant is the third the foundation has donated to the hospice and will go to aiding its Vision 2020 project, which aims to increase the number of children it cares for by 500 per year.
Executive chair of the Pears Foundation, Trevor Pears CMG, said: “Our family is delighted to support the hospice as it seeks to expand its services.”
