A BBC documentary on TV tonight will investigate whether parking fines in Redbridge are being enforced fairly.

Tonight’s episode of Inside Out London will look at whether the council and others across the capital are turning a blind eye when it comes to poor signposting of parking enforcement areas.

The episode will include interviews with people who have fallen into the alleged parking trap.

A Redbridge Council spokesman said the BBC has notified them about confusion over its RingGo cashless parking system, which say they have contacted RingGo about.

He said: “We receive a small number of parking appeals based on the accuracy of signs and whenever new signs are put up we are careful to ensure that they meet the correct legal requirements.

“We have a contract with APCOA and as part of that relationship we do monitor progress and performance as we would with any contractor. This involves looking at the figures and seeing when, where, and why large or small numbers of tickets are being issued."

Inside Out will be on BBC One at 8.30pm tonight.
