The deputy leader of the Green party will visit Buckhurst Hill this weekend, giving support to local campaigns.

Shahrar Ali, who was the first black and minority ethnic deputy leader of a UK party, will visit the town on Saturday (February 6).

Dr Ali will help with transport surveys at the party’s stall in Queens Road and answer questions about national and local policies.

He said: “Buckhurst Hill has a well-respected, dedicated and hard-working councillor in the Greens' Steven Neville.

“I'm delighted to support Steven and the Epping Forest Greens' activists, who work all year round to support residents, not just when an election's looming.”

The Green party stall will be on Queens Road from 11am, and Dr Ali will be there from midday until 2pm.
