Redbridge is the third best place in the country for providing opportunities for young people, a new study has said.
The borough was just behind Westminster and Wandsworth in the Social Mobility and Child Poverty Commission’s social mobility index, which measures how each local authority provides opportunities for disadvantaged children.
The report takes into account things like how easy it is for young people to find a job and get on to the property ladder.
Cabinet member for children and young people, Councillor Elaine Norman, said: “In Redbridge we work hard to provide a fantastic education and opportunities to our young people.
“This ranking shows that our education system provides just that and sets people up for a job and a good career.”
