A model and reality TV star has agreed to walk on fire to raise money for a children’s hospice.

Star of Celebrity Big Brother Casey Batchelor, 31, will walk over 20ft of wooden embers burning at over 600 degrees Celsius to fundraise for Haven House Children’s Hospice.

Casey, who is from Essex, said: “When Haven House asked me if I would like to do their firewalk for Mad March, I just had to say yes!

“The hospice provides a magical service for children and families in our area - but without your support - Haven House wouldn’t be able to function.”

The fire walk will take place at 4.15pm on March 23 at Haven House in High Road, Woodford Green as part of the hospice’s Mad March fundraising campaign.

The hospice’s chief executive, Mike Palfreman, said: “Walking on 20 feet of wood embers burning at 1,236°F is a slightly daunting prospect.

“However knowing that funds are being raised to support local life-limited children and their families will make it all worthwhile.”
