A girl is “over the moon” after donating 18 inches of her hair to a cancer charity.

10-year-old Isabel Tarsey, of Wigram Square, Walthamstow, will donate the hair to the Little Princess Trust.

She had her hair cut at Steve’s Hairdressers, in Wood Street, on Friday (February 5).

Isabel, who attends Woodside Academy, in Barrett Road, has also raised £350 to be donated to the charity.

Friend of the family Frank Gil said: “Isabel saw a programme when she was five-years-old about how charities make wigs for children suffering from cancer.

“She really wanted to do it and we found the Little Princess Trust.

“Isabel has been growing her hair for years.

“After Friday she was over the moon and completely elated because she has been waiting all this time.

“I also want to say thank you to Steve O’Donnell for allowing us to get the hair cut for free, I have been going to his hairdressers for years.”
