A short term car hire scheme is coming to Wanstead.
Zipcar, a company that provides a pay-as-you-go car hire service, will soon be available for people in Wanstead as part of Redbridge Council’s car club scheme.
The council has confirmed the car club spaces will be near Wanstead Library in Woodbine Place and opposite Snaresbrook Station in Sylvain Road.
Councillor for Snaresbrook Ward Colin Cronin said: “These car club spaces will help reduce congestion on our roads whilst also reducing carbon emissions due to the low emission vehicles used."
Zipcar membership is typically £6 a month, with pay-as-you-go rates from £5 per hour.
