Police are running pop-up contact points to chat with the public about hate crime and how they intend to tackle it.

In the morning of Tuesday, March 22, police will be at Leytonstone tube and bus station, Leyton Mills ASDA at lunchtime, Highams Park Tesco in the afternoon and at Walthamstow bus station during the evening rush home.

Victims of Hate Crimes are targeted because of their actual, or even assumed, race, religion, sexuality, gender, or disability.

Often these crimes are under reported because of fear, feeling ashamed, or victims not knowing a crime is made more severe by their being deliberately targeted.

If you are worried you have been a hate crime victim call police on 101 at any time, 999 if you are in immediate danger, or report anything anonymously through Crimestoppers.
