The All People’s Party is the third to announce a last minute candidate in a council by-election.

After the Green Party’s Barry Cooper and UKIP’s Jonathan Seymour announced they will be standing in the Roding by-election this week, Marilyn Moore has been put forward as the APP's candidate.

Ms Moore currently works as duty manager for Lewisham Council and sits on a local credit union board in Tower Hamlets.

She is also involved in several youth organisations that help young people from minority backgrounds better their education.

She said: “As your representative for Roding ward, I will fight day and night for a positive future for all residents in these difficult times we live in.

“I will prioritise creating opportunities and enhancing the prospects of many of the most under-privileged in the area who have been without hope for far too long.”

Ms Moore added that her priority is to build more social housing in Roding and the rest of Redbridge and ensure transparency at council level.

The APP was set up in 2014 to promote equality and better representation of minority groups across London and the UK.

Marilyn Moore will go up against Labour’s Lloyd Duddridge, Conservative candidate Ruth Clark, Lib Dem Rich Clare, the Green Party’s Barry Cooper and UKIP hopeful Jonathan Seymour in the Roding by-election on May 5.
