A vote on divisive plans for the transformation of a heritage attraction will be held on June 6, it has been announced.
At a meeting of Epping Forest District Council last night (April 16), council chairwoman councillor Liz Webster said proposals for the Royal Gunpowder Mills (RGM) site in Beaulieu Drive, Waltham Abbey, will be debated at an extraordinary meeting.
Activity company PGL and the RGM’s charitable foundation hope to create a new children’s activity centre.
The plans include accommodation buildings, dining and changing rooms, building conversions for accommodation and classrooms, a new water lake, as well as zip wires and ‘tunnel trails’.
They will be debated again after four councillors overturned the plans’ approval at a district development meeting last week.
The meeting on June 6 will be held in the civic offices in Epping.
