A SURGEON got to enjoy an evening at the House of Commons after winning a prestigious clinicians’ award this week.

Consultant laparoscopic surgeon Dr Aman Bhargava and his wife Neelu attended a formal ceremony at Westminster where he was presented with the Outstanding Clinician Achievement award by Essex MP Stephen Metcalf.

The surgeon, who works at Spire Roding Hospital in South Woodford and across Queen’s and King George Hospitals, got the award for his commitment to helping train junior colleagues.

He said: “It was amazing to go to the House of Commons and see the Palace of Westminster.

“I was really proud to receive the award – I’m passionate about training and that’s one of the things it recognises.”
