A TEENAGER who beat a commuter to death at a busy train station has been jailed for two years and nine months.
The 17-year-old from Ilford admitted punching and kicking 53-year-old John Francis Breen to death at Stratford station at the Old Bailey on April 11.
The court heard how he punched Mr Breen hard in the face and smashed his head against the floor after a row broke out on the escalators at Stratford’s Overground station on October 27 last year.
Mr Breen was rushed to hospital, but died there the following day.
A 15-year-old boy, who was also involved in the fatal assault on Mr Breen, was given a 12-month referral order on Friday (May 20) after admitting causing actual bodily harm (ABH).
