FRUSTRATED commuters will be able to air their grievances about 20-week road closures at a drop in session next month.

National Grid has organised a Q&A session for people who live and drive through areas of Wanstead and Aldersbrook that are due to be heavily disrupted with gas mains replacement works again this summer.

While engineers replace service pipes, Overton Road will be closed at the Blake Hall Road junction for around eight weeks from the beginning of August.

Tennyson Road will be completely cut off for approximately three weeks in October, and Felstead Road will stay shut for three weeks in November.

Residents and business owners along the disrupted roads will still be able to access their properties during the closures.

Project engineer Paul Illingworth said: “This essential work will help ensure people keep on enjoying safe and reliable gas supplies for cooking and heating.

“We’ve planned the work in close discussion with Redbridge Council and others including TfL and the police to ensure it’s delivered with minimal disruption to the local community.”

Blake Hall Road and the surrounding area has been plagued by traffic disruption over the last year, with a Twitter account called Blake Hell Road popping up recently to help manage residents’ concerns.

The drop in session will be at Wanstead Library in Spratt Hall Road between 9am and 9pm.
