SINCE the launch of London's new 2012 Olympic logo, many people have suggested that a child could have designed better.

So we are giving our youngsters the chance.

Unlike the Olympic Committee, we do not have £400,000 to give away but we do have ten £10 vouchers to reward creators of the best designs.

Just like the official design, the logo needs to include the Olympic rings, the date 2012 and the word London.

The rest is up to you.

We will send the top ten entries to London 2012 Committee. It might just give them some ideas.

The contest is open to children up to the age of 11 and can be created either with pens and paints, on on a computer programme. Closing date for entries is Thursday, June 21.

Send your designs to 2012 logo, c/o Pat Stannard, Wanstead and Woodford Guardian, 480-500 Larkshall Road, Highams Park, London. E4 9GD. The editor's decision is final.

the new 2012 Olympic symbol is a bucket of ****, for £5 i could have designed something worth looking at, i wish i was young enough to enter the contest. Bird **** on canvas looks better, its not a clever logo, its not interesting or exciting it's a bucket of **** and who was it that thought lets spend £400,000 on that, could be the biggest mistake in English history, the creator sucks ****, pink and yellow go **** together as well, the hole thing it terrible and an embarrassment, who ever got the privilege to design it is so lucky for tossing **** at paper and getting £400,000.
the artist really **** up man, the privilege alone is an amazing thing but to **** it up bye designing something like that, and get £400,000 for it "**** me", what a ****.

sorry for being so rude but I'm British

One of the worst logos I have ever seen. It is upsetting that this is what we are going to subject the rest of the world to. How embarrassing
