A man has been jailed for eight years for causing “life changing injuries” to another in a late-night machete attack.
Paul Saunders, 30, appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court today (May 27) over the planned attack in Loughton High Road on November 6 last year.
A 24-year-old man from Romford was seriously injured in the attack, at about 11.30pm on a Friday night.
In contrast to previous reports, the man’s hand was not severed but he was left with “limited use” in his left hand.
Saunders, of Biggin Lane, Grays, was jailed for a section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH) offence after previously pleading guilty on May 3.
