A car smashed into a building at Whipps Cross Hospital, knocking down a wall at one of the health centre’s units.
The incident took place at around 10am this morning (Monday, June 6), when the blue, Jaguar S-Type collided with a building on the hospital campus in Leytonstone.
The damaged building is believed to be next door to the hospital’s maternity unit.
No one is thought to have been injured in the crash. Neither ambulance crews nor police were called to attend the scene.
A spokesman for St Barts NHS Trust, which operates Whipps Cross, confirmed significant damage had been caused to one of the hospitals buildings.
He added contractors had been called to repair the building as soon as possible.
