A GROUP of green-fingered cub scouts have unveiled their new-look community garden after three years of work to transform it.
Young members of the 36th Epping Forest South Scout Group put the final touches to their revamped community garden at All Saints Church in Woodford Green last week (June 6).
After three years of re-digging and planting bulbs, bushes and flowers, the group of 30 eight to 10-year-olds celebrated the end of the project in time for the Queen’s birthday celebrations this weekend.
Their work on the community garden outside their meeting place in Inmans Row will go towards their world challenge badge.
Group scout leader David Hall said: “It took a lot of hard work, but the cubs all enjoyed themselves, particularly with the watering cans!
“They have helped turn something that didn’t look very nice at all into a bright and beautiful spectacle for the church and wider community to enjoy.”
