The PUBLIC is to choose its favourite William Morris pattern to feature in a mural of the great man.

Art collective Wood Street Walls and William Morris Big Local are asking people to vote on a mural being painted in Bedford Road, Walthamstow.

Voters can choose between six patterns to sit behind a portrait of the famous Victorian textile designer and social activist.

The mural will face the William Morris Gallery car park and will be painted by ATMA, who lives in Blackhorse Road.

Wood Street Walls founder, Mark Clack said: “We wanted to create a lasting artwork that gave residents a sense of ownership.”

The home being used for the project will be fully insulated prior to painting as part of an involvement with HEET.

Walthamstow-based HEET helps the elderly and people on low income save money on fuel bills by improving the energy efficiency of their homes.

You have until August 1 to decide on your favourite pattern: www.pickyourpattern.co.uk.
