Commuters have been left frustrated today, after late-finishing engineering works caused severe delays to TfL Rail services.
There were severe delays on the whole of the TfL Rail line this morning (Monday June, 27) from Shenfield to Liverpool Street, affecting trains through Ilford, Forest Gate and Manor Park.
The delays were the result of over-running weekend engineering works. Tickets are being accepeted on Underground, Overground, Abellio Greater Anglia and C2C services.
Commuters from Ilford are advised to take the 86, 123, 128, 150, 176, 179, 296, 296 or 462 busses to Gants Hill and change onto the Central Line passing through Wanstead and onto Liverpool Street.
Those wanting to travel from Forest Gate can take busses 86, 25 or 308 to Stratford and then the Central Line.
Trains are now largely running as normal and operators have apologised for the incovnience caused.
A Network Rail spokesman said: "Our engineers were renewing the tracks between Shenfield and Gidea Park and encountered problems on site that meant the work took longer to complete than originally planned.
"While some services ran this morning, we recognise that many passengers had a difficult journey to work with some delays and cancellations, for which we are sorry."
