A pre-school played host to the mayor of Waltham Forest at a teddy bears’ picnic.
Chingford Mount Baptist Church pre-school held a picnic for 25 children on Thursday 23 June.
Mayor of Waltham Forest Cllr Peter Herrington and his wife Sue attended the picnic with their teddy bears.
Organiser Jean Lomas said: “It was a great day. The children brought their teddies and they played very well. Thankfully, there were no tantrums.
“They were fascinated at the mayor and his wife’s gold chains. It was the highlight of their day.”
The children aged between two and five years were treated to a selection of home baking by members of Chingford Mount Baptist Church in Leadale Avenue in Chingford Mount.
Adult guests were given an account of the 45-year history of the pre-school.
