A major new housing development could replace a former town centre post delivery office.

In Loughton, the Royal Mail group has proposed to demolish its former office off the High Road near Morrisons.

The site, which sits slightly behind other High Road properties, would instead accommodate 30 apartments - 10 one-bed, 15 two-bed and five three-bed.

Spaces for 24 cars would be provided, as well as 34 cycle spaces on the ground floor.

The “comprehensive redevelopment” would also include rubbish and recycling areas.
